COMP:DF: Etamsylate: Tab 500mg
MOA: Improves platelet adhesion & restores capillary resistance by acting on endothelium-platelet interaction
CI: Known hypersensitivity to products/sulphites, acute porphyria, lactation
AE: GI discomfort, nausea, headache, rash, hypotension
W&P: Exclude malignant/pathological disease before Tx, hypotension; PRC ? , Lact ?
IND:DOS: Capillary hemorrhages: Pre-op: 500mg PO 1h prior to surgery; Post-op: 500mg PO q4-6h until there is no longer a risk of bleeding; Hematuria, hematemesis, melena, epistaxis: 500mg PO tid with meals; Meno-metrorrhagia: 500mg PO tid 5d before onset of menses x 10d
